Nimmi was born on February 18, 1933 in Agra, United Provinces of Agra and Oudh, British India (now Uttar Pradesh, India). She is known for Arpan (1957), Barsaat (1949) and Alif-Laila (1953). She was married to S. Ali Raza. She died on March 25, 2020 in Mumbai, Maharashtra, India.
Nimmi Harasgama is a British-Sri Lankan award winning actor and writer. In May 2021 Nimmi was nominated for best "Drama Performance" by the British National Television Awards for her portrayal of series regular Nurse Mari on The Good Karma Hospital (ITV). In 2020 Nimmi played the female lead, Amma/Nalini, in Deepa Mehta's film Funny Boy. Nimmi acts in English, Sinhala, and Tamil. Her performance in the Sinhala film August Sun won her the Best Actress award at the Las Palmas International Film Festival and the Vishwa Keerthi, the highest arts award in Sri Lanka. She was the lead in the Tamil short I Too Have A Name, which was in competition at the Berlin International Film Festival. Nimmi plays series regular, Nurse Mari, on The Good Karma Hospital which is set to film its fourth series in 2021. She can also be seen in the Netflix series Requiem as Detective Alice Brenton. In British Indie film Hello Darling Nimmi she plays Aanya. The film has won numerous Best Film awards internationally. Nimmi began her career in theatre. Her last theatre appearance was as the Snow Queen in the West End production of The Snow Queen. Nimmi has written all her life but her first published/performed work was commissioned by UK theatre company Tamasha. Auntie Netta's Holiday For Asylum was a one woman show based on her YouTube character Auntie Netta. The show premiered at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe. Her play 'My Homemade Kite' was part of Kali Theatre's (UK) 'Women In War' Series and had a rehearsed reading at Tristan Bates Theatre. She is currently in development to have a full production both in the UK and the US. Her TV show Brown Girl Panic has been optioned by Blue Bear Production Company and recently had a rehearsed reading commissioned by SKY TV (UK). She is also a story consultant and writer for an animated series that is in development by Blue Bear Productions. Nimmi is co-writing a screenplay based on an Indian novel for GURU productions. Her most recent character, Brûlée, a parody of social media influencers, has taken Sri Lankan Instagram by storm. Brûlée joins Auntie Netta, Nimmi's longtime YouTube character who was reborn during the 80 days of 24/7 COVID-19 curfew her family experienced in Sri Lanka. Auntie Netta became a Goodwill Ambassador for WHO's Sri Lanka's campaign on educating people about COVID-19 safety during that time. Nimmi is a committed for Human Rights advocate. She has a BA in Drama and Theatre Arts from Goldsmiths College (University of London). She trained at Groundlings Improv School and Lesly Kahn & Co Drama School in LA. and the New York Film Academy in NYC. During and after the war in Sri Lanka, Nimmi utilized her training with John Martin (Pan Intercultural Arts) and Augusto Boal (Theatre for the Oppressed) in her work with war and tsunami affected children and young adults. These projects were located in the North and East and were conducted through the British Council and Save The Children. She has also worked with young adult refugees In the UK through Pan Intercultural Arts. Much of Nimmi's writing has to do with her own experiences of being an immigrant and her work with refugees.

Nimra Bucha is a Pakistani-British actor. She was born and grew up in Karachi. Bucha is one of four siblings. Her father was a pilot and as children they traveled a great deal. She went to an all girls school in Karachi called the Convent of Jesus and Mary. She went on to do a BA at Bard College in the US. She always wanted a career in acting but was afraid it would be frowned upon by her family so she graduated with a major in Political Science instead. After her marriage to writer and journalist Mohammed Hanif in 1995 they both started to produce plays. In 2008 Hanif wrote The Dictators Wife which was devised and performed by Bucha at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. That was followed by a career in television and film in Pakistan and more recently in Britain and the United States.

Born in Rajasthan, Nimrat was brought up in an army environment, thus hopping from one city to other and from one school to other. After losing her father, during a counter-terrorist operation, at a very young age she moved to Noida in the north of India and went on to finish her remaining schooling from DPS Noida and studied for her Bachelor's in Commerce from Sri Ram College of Commerce. Nimrat finally made the inevitable move to Mumbai in 2004 after graduating and forayed into the world of modeling and advertising. She first caught the eye with the Tera Mera Pyaar music video from Sony Music. Thereafter she went on to model for over 80 Indian and international television commercials and numerous print campaigns for brands like Asian Paints, ICICI, Videocon, Pantaloon, Samsung, Aircel and Cadbury. In 2009 Nimrat started her stint with the stage acting with theatre veteran Sunil Shanbag in a musical at the Prithvi Theatre Festival. She went on to do many plays but the most acclaimed one was All About Women, where she was required to play four different characters ranging from the age of 25 to 85. Having completed close to 50 shows she earned herself a nomination at the Mahindra Excellence in Theatre Awards in the Best Actress category. Billed as one of the most promising theatre actors, Nimrat went on to work with stage stalwarts including Manav Kaul and recently won Best Actress award for her work in Akarsh Khurana's Baghdad Wedding.
