Nina Stakz is an Atlanta based Writer/Director on the rise. After beginning her career in broadcast television, working for NBC and CBS news affiliates, Stakz decided to journey into the world of filmmaking. Taking her cues from the likes of Spike Lee and Hype Williams, Stakz honed her craft on hundreds of music video sets with artists like Akon, Janelle Monae, and Gucci Mane. Over the years she developed a flair for telling authentic urban stories. This led her to try her hand at directing a short film in 2018. After a run of short films and web based content, Stakz received several film festival awards and garnered a loyal fan base on YouTube. In 2019, Stakz's scripted web series "New Year, New Us" gained more than 1 million organic views on Youtube and earned a die-hard army of fans. It was so successful, Stakz formatted the series into a feature film and it was distributed to digital streaming by Maverick Entertainment where it has been a top performer on a number of platforms including Tubi and Amazon Prime. The success of "New Year, New Us" was a launchpad for several more projects. The sequel has been recently greenlit thanks to overwhelming consumer demand. Stakz's sophomore release "The Aftermath", a heist film, comes to streaming platforms in December. And #CLOUT, an anthology film based on the dangers of social media, is in production with a larger budget than her previous projects and with a few popular influencers in lead roles. Nina Stakz not only writes and directs, she is also the DP and editor on most of her projects, and with a work ethic like that, she is destined for success! Expect nothing but more growth from her creative and fresh approach to storytelling.
