Ryan Marks is an Actor who is based in Liverpool, Ryan's parents were both from Liverpool but worked in Bristol, Ryan was born in April 1989 five days after the Hillsborough disaster, his father had a ticket to attend the match but because Ryan was due to be born he gave his ticket away. Ryan moved to Liverpool with his parents as a baby, he grew up in North Liverpool, as a teenager often got into fights, struggled in school and as he got older he got in trouble with the police. One incident Ryan described as a wake-up call and he decided to try and create better positive opportunities in his life. Ryan began working in Mental Health and had two children with his partner Aimee. Ryan started acting by accident when an old school friend asked him to help him with a short film project, he quickly realized he had discovered a new passion and began putting himself forward for further roles.. Ryan uses his professional and personal experiences to help him portray often complex, imposing and layered characters. His style of acting is often confident, lively and energetic. He describes using acting as an outlet of energy and prefers challenging roles, he says some things can't be taught in drama classes, sometimes you have to live and breathe certain things and situations in order to believably portray them on screen. "I had a passion for acting, in what other capacity could you pretend to be someone else.. there is nothing like it.. I love doing short films. you get 3 or 4 minutes to pack as much emotion, expression, feeling as you can into a small piece of dialogue so the audience understands who, why and what your character is all about. You don't get the luxury of flashbacks, monologues or backstories, you have to create that sh*t all by yourself in a very short amount of time.. it's so much harder, but so much more rewarding."
